The Story
This forest is a place I go when the noise gets too real. I painted the figure sitting because that is what I do there — just sit and let the trees do what trees do. The light comes through and it doesn't ask permission. Staying still when everything in you says move is the hardest thing. This painting is about what happens after you stop running.
The Crossing
Crossing 3.5 Resistance via Revealing — Revealing the Force. The figure has stopped moving and the forest has not. Every tree leans toward something the seated body already knows but cannot name. The force that was being resisted turns out to be the same force that holds the ground steady.

A lush forest scene with a nude female figure seated beneath towering eucalyptus trees, dappled light filtering through dense canopy onto a soft path of pink and gold.
