Paradox: The body has just arrived in a lifetime

The Story

I painted four figures because embodiment is not private. When you finally arrive in your body, you see that everyone else is doing the same thing in their own way. The waterhole at dusk holds that moment — the light going golden, the reflections getting deeper, and every person in the scene just being there. No performance. No escape. Just presence held in water.

The Crossing

Crossing 5.1 Embodiment via Holding — Holding the Channel. Four bodies occupy the same water without occupying the same awareness. Each figure has arrived at the body independently — as if discovering a vehicle they have always owned but never driven. The channel is open and holding is no longer effort.

Presence

A dark waterhole scene with four nude figures positioned around reflective water, golden light filtering through dense canopy, creating a luminous tension between presence and dissolution.

Specialised Pigments

Acrylic on premium linen canvas with layered dark-ground technique. Mineral pigments build depth through transparent glazes and concentrated warm highlights over cool shadow base.
