Paradox: Surrendered but not yet awake
The Story
I swam in a river that did not care about me. It did not care about my stories, my efforts, my identity. The water was cold and old and completely indifferent. That indifference washed me cleaner than any intention. I stopped trying to be someone the river recognised, and the river washed what was left.
The Crossing
Crossing 1.7 Dormancy via Living Dao — The Body Surrenders. The body floats in the waterhole having done everything it knows how to do. The mountains hold the space but offer no direction — the water simply carries. This is not enlightenment, it is completion of the first cycle: the body surrenders because there is nothing left to fight for.
Presence
A figure swims through an expansive blue waterhole surrounded by mountain valleys and pink-green rock formations, the body almost dissolved into the water itself.
Specialised Pigments
Acrylic on stretched canvas. Mineral pigments applied with fluid brushwork, layering blue and aqua tones to create depth and luminosity in the waterhole passages.
