Paradox: Never more yourself, never less tested

The Story

I found myself in a part of the bush I had not planned to visit. The light was different there. The river moved differently. I stood next to a tree and understood something I had not been looking for. The knowing was accidental — it arrived because I stopped trying to find it. That is the paradox: the self I discovered was always there. I just had to stop performing long enough to notice.

The Crossing

The river catches light the way a new identity catches devotion — completely, without questioning what else it might become. At 2.6, the self has never felt more real, and the devotion to that self has never been more total or more untested.
