Paradox: Beauty that asks for nothing in return
The Story
I painted a landscape that was beautiful for no reason. No sunset timing, no golden hour calculation. It was simply there, being what it was, without needing anyone to notice. That is the beauty I am interested in — the kind that does not perform. The kind that remains after the audience has gone.
The Crossing
Crossing 1.7 Dormancy via Living Dao — The Body Surrenders. The rocks and trees sit in layered stillness, each one finished with its own becoming. Nothing in this landscape is reaching or growing — it is resting in the form it arrived at. At 1.7, beauty is not created or performed. It is what remains after everything else has been completed.
Presence
A layered rocky landscape with scattered trees emerges from misty pink-grey atmosphere, with orange and coral tones in the rock formations and a reflecting pink-gold waterline cutting through the centre.

Acrylic on stretched canvas. Mineral pigments with atmospheric washes and textural impasto, layering pink, grey, and coral-orange passages to build depth in the rock formations.
