About the Art
A suited figure with a briefcase drowns in swirling red-orange water, mouth open in a scream, hands raised, while green riverbank curves above — a visceral image of external success submerged in internal chaos.
Art Story
I painted a man drowning in his own success. The suit, the briefcase, the open mouth — everything he built was perfect from the outside. From the inside, he was going under. I know this drowning. I have worn versions of that suit. The painting is not judgement. It is recognition that the rules we follow to succeed can be the same ones that submerge us.
Crossing 1.5 Dormancy via Revealing — Revealing the Rules
The suited figure drowns in colour that should be water but reads as blood, bile, the accumulated cost of living by rules that were never yours. The briefcase floats because it was always lighter than the life it represented. At 1.5, the rules that built the success are the same rules that are pulling you under.
Questions to Ask
Which of your successes were built on rules that were never yours?
