The Story
I remember the instant I stopped retreating and faced myself directly. All the pain and confusion from my past returned, not as punishment, but as proof of the journey I had walked. In that moment, everything made sense. The difficulties were not obstacles — they were the passage I had to cross to become who I am. Fear released, and I surrendered, not by giving up, but by understanding.
The Crossing
Crossing 4.3 — Alignment via Breaking. This work stands in the moment when all resistance breaks and clarity forms under pressure. The very barrier that once seemed to block the path becomes the passage itself. Surrender here is not passive — it's a conscious release into the truth that only emerges through breaking. The figure inside the oval has stopped retreating and is being held by what was once feared.
Presence
The pale blue oval holds the centre while gold and earth pigment scatter outward, red threads moving like nerve-ends through the field. The work brings density and stillness to a space, asking for distance to step back. It belongs where contemplation already lives — meditation rooms, studios, rooms with quiet light.

Limited editions are produced on 380gsm archival linen canvas when the short edge is within 160cm. For larger formats exceeding this dimension, works are produced on 320gsm premium archival synthetic canvas to ensure structural stability and longevity.
Dimensions
Listed dimensions refer to the displayed artwork size. When framed in Australian oak, the overall finished size increases by approximately 3cm to accommodate the floating frame structure.
For formats where both edges exceed 200cm, the artwork is produced as two aligned panels, designed to read as a cohesive single work when installed.

Limited editions are available as rolled canvas, stretched canvas with mirrored edges, or framed in Australian oak floating frames. Frames are available in natural oak, white oak, or black oak, featuring a 5.5cm deep profile.

Every Limited Edition print includes a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity. The certificate carries Summer Jiang's signature, the edition number (e.g. 12 of 49), title, and date. The canvas itself is also signed on the verso in permanent ink for archival protection.
The certificate arrives sealed in a dark envelope, separate from the artwork.
