Title: In Tragedy Life is Beautiful
Paradox: Death makes life beautiful
The Story
Everything we have in this life — we can't take it with us. There is death at the end. Some call it tragedy. But because of that, life is beautiful. Death is what gives whatever is alive today its depth and its passion. This realisation came through my own confrontation with impermanence, seeing how the temporary nature of everything we love doesn't diminish its value but actually creates it. The dark expanse in this painting holds both ending and beginning, both loss and the fierce beauty that emerges when we truly understand we can't hold onto anything forever.
The Crossing
Crossing 3.7 Identity via Living Dao — The Identity Surrenders. The friction is done and everything looks less contradictory. What appeared as tragedy becomes the source of beauty itself — death's presence transforms life from mere existence into passionate depth. The battle settles into understanding that impermanence creates the very conditions that make anything worth loving.
Presence
This artwork captures the profound paradox that death gives life its depth and passion, rendered through deep blue-black tones that suggest both endings and infinite space.
Specialised Pigments
Deep acrylic pigments layered to create atmospheric depth. Dark blues and blacks applied with controlled brushwork to achieve seamless tonal transitions and subtle textural variations across the surface.
