Title: Rebellion
Paradox: The fight is real but the fighter cannot see the mirror.
The Story
I painted this at the Murray River where the rocks were ancient and the water was dark and fast. Something in the landscape was fighting — not the water against the rock but something underneath both of them. I felt it in my body as I painted. The red came out before I planned it. I was angry at things I could not name and this painting took all of that and put it somewhere I could see it. It was the first time I let the fight onto the canvas without trying to resolve it.
The Crossing
Crossing 1.3 Dormancy via Breaking — Breaking the Static. The bold red streak cuts through dark rock like a force that has nowhere to go — reactive, unowned, burning against what contains it. This is the crossing where friction with the world is genuine development happening without a witness, where every collision opens new ground that the person moving through it cannot yet recognise. The dark silhouettes of trees stand like witnesses to a struggle that does not yet know it is growth.
Presence
A dramatic river landscape where dark rock formations meet vivid colour streaks of red, blue, and pink, painted with raw gestural force that holds the tension between containment and eruption.
Specialised Pigments
Acrylic and ink on canvas with mineral pigments. Raw gestural brushwork with drip technique and bold colour streaks, building physical tension across dark ground.
Display Suggestions
Entry hallway, office, feature wall — activating presence through raw confrontational energy.
