Title: Between Two Worlds
Paradox: The complete vision rests at the edge of beginning.
Space & Presence
At full scale, this work divides a wall into two luminous zones that shift the atmosphere of any room. The upper register — golden cliff faces, cascading waterfall, turquoise pool — radiates warmth and completion. Thick impasto textures catch ambient light, creating surface variation that changes throughout the day. Below the waterline, deep violet and blue passages draw the eye downward into a cooler, more mysterious space. A solitary figure sits at the threshold between these zones, small against the landscape but holding the entire composition's centre of gravity. The painting does not demand attention from across a room — it draws you closer. The colour warmth anchors residential, professional, or contemplative spaces with a grounded presence that feels both expansive and still. The vertical format creates a natural pause point wherever it is placed, introducing a sense of depth that extends beyond the wall surface.Perception
Sustained viewing reveals a painting that operates on two registers simultaneously. The upper world feels complete — every element in place, the landscape fully realised. The lower world is unresolved, its structures only partially visible, its depths unmapped. The figure at the threshold does not choose between them. This is the condition of Crossing 2.7 — Awakening via Living Dao — where mental understanding has arrived at its fullest expression and the body has not yet followed. The paradox is not tension. It is a pause that holds both knowing and not-yet-beginning in the same frame. Through extended viewing, the painting's dual structure begins to mirror an internal recognition: the experience of having seen clearly what cannot yet be touched. The work does not resolve. It rests in the space between completion and commencement, inviting awareness to remain present at the threshold rather than pushing through it.Display Suggestions
