The Story
This painting holds a steady state — untouched, not yet tested, not yet deepened. It came from the serenity that arrives when one round of life finishes, when ambition quiets and the physical world loosens its grip. The palette knife stays loose so the surface can breathe. Underneath the calm sits the question of whether this peace is real, or only the quiet before disturbance.
The Crossing
Crossing 1.7 — Dormancy via Living Dao. The first cycle has ended: physical mastery has quieted, ambition has settled, and what remains feels like peace. This stillness is real but unearned — completion of one round of life rather than the depth that arrives only after a question the physical world cannot answer. In this landscape the calm holds without strain, sitting at the edge of a question that has not yet been asked.
Presence
The surface stays soft across its full breadth — cream above, pink and orange below, with thick palette-knife passages that hold light rather than reflect it. Oversize works in this register settle a room rather than crowd it. The atmosphere is quiet and self-contained, the kind of presence that does not ask for attention.

Limited editions are produced on 380gsm archival linen canvas when the short edge is within 160cm. For larger formats exceeding this dimension, works are produced on 320gsm premium archival synthetic canvas to ensure structural stability and longevity.
Dimensions
Listed dimensions refer to the displayed artwork size. When framed in Australian oak, the overall finished size increases by approximately 3cm to accommodate the floating frame structure.
For formats where both edges exceed 200cm, the artwork is produced as two aligned panels, designed to read as a cohesive single work when installed.

Certificate of Authenticity
Every Limited Edition print includes a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity. The certificate carries Summer Jiang's signature, the edition number (e.g. 12 of 49), title, and date. The canvas itself is also signed on the verso in permanent ink for archival protection.
The certificate arrives sealed in a dark envelope, separate from the artwork.
